Charleston Engagement at Magnolia Plantation & Downtown | Marisa & Jimmy
Last August, I spent the afternoon with Marisa & Jimmy wandering through Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, one of the most breathtaking spots in Charleston. We walked a few of the shaded trails, explored some of the bridges, and even visited the area where they’d later say “I do.” After that, we headed downtown to soak in the charm of cobblestone streets, Rainbow Row, and those classic Charleston backdrops that make this city feel timeless. Their wedding would come just a few months later, but this day was all about the quiet moments leading up to it. It was warm, romantic, and filled with everything I love about photographing in the Lowcountry.
Looking back, this session feels like the perfect prelude to the beautiful day that was still to come. After having to reschedule a few times due to rain and summer thunderstorms, it made the sunshine feel even more like a gift. There was something so relaxed and meaningful about watching Marisa & Jimmy just be together—no timeline, no pressure…just the two of them soaking up a warm afternoon in a city that means so much to them. Charleston always brings a little extra magic, and this session was no exception.
