"The night we got engaged in September of 2017, our initial thought was “we want to do something different for our wedding.” As frequent wedding goers, we have been to them all; wineries, beach weddings, barn weddings, big city weddings, etc. So what could we possibly do that was a fun new experience for our family and friends?

As New Yorkers, we knew it had to be a destination wedding… and somewhere warm. After much research and planning, we decided it would be amazing to get married under an avenue of oak trees somewhere down south. The classic and beautiful style of the oaks would be the perfect romantic backdrop to our wedding and scenery everyone would enjoy.

After looking up countless venues that had an “avenue,” the date availability was not working out. Patric made a side comment, “Well, we can always go down to visit Gram and Poppie’s at Belfair to investigate some locations on Hilton Head Island.” And that’s when we realized, Belfair has the most amazing Avenue of Oaks (maybe in all of South Carolina) and we couldn’t think of anything better!

The wedding day was gorgeous. The landscape at Belfair and classic style of the clubhouse on the river was everything we wanted and more. We were so happy and thankful that so many friends and family flew down to SC for our celebration in such a beautiful location."
